Block exchanges

General Directions: Jean Roesler will be coordinating 2 Block Exchanges. The first is a Star Block and the second is a Buckeye Beauty block. You may participate in one or both exchanges. Each exchange needs 12 people. In the exchanges, you provide a fat quarter of fabric to each of
the other 11 people in your block exchange. This fabric is what will unify all the blocks for you.
Each person in your exchange will make a block using your fabric and other fabric from her stash.
You may give guidelines, but please do not be too restrictive. For example, you may decide to give a focus fabric and tell people that you prefer a cream background. In May, you will exchange your completed blocks with the other members of your group. There will be a special show and tell the following September for those who have completed their quilts.

Star Block
In this exchange each person will make a completed 12” (12.5” x 12.5”) block using any star pattern of her choice. It may be pieced, appliquéd, or both. It must contain the fabric of the person for whom the block is intended.

Buckeye Beauty
In this exchange each person will make the specific block Buckeye Beauty. It must be a completed 12” (12.5” x 12.5”) block. You will be provided with the pattern for the block.
